Who it is for

  • Owners of big adventure bikes who ride them on tarmac and off it
  • Riders for whom one day is not enough and who want the technique to stick
  • People who would rather train with a group they get to know than in an anonymous course

What to expect

One day off-road will fire you up. One day on the circuit will fire you up. But only when you put the two back to back do you realise it was the same riding all along, and that only the surface under the wheels changed.

Why dirt and tarmac together

A rider who can control a bike on loose ground stops panicking when a tyre slides on tarmac. A rider who has learned to find a line on the circuit rides more cleanly on a gravel road. Combined training does exactly that: it forces you to carry habits from one surface to the other until you see how they hold each other up.

A pace you can breathe at

This is not a race. Multi-day training has breaks, dinners, debriefs and time to talk to the other riders. Most of the people who come on our expeditions started here. It is the quickest way into a group of riders who ride the way you do.

What is in the price

Accommodation in twin rooms with a shared bathroom, and meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you choose one of our bikes, hire and all the fuel are included too. You can also ride your own bike, which brings the price down.

Three days or four

The longer option simply adds a day of riding. Either way you ride dirt, road and race circuit, so no surface gets dropped.

Our instructors speak English, and the tracks and circuit are both in eastern Bohemia, roughly two hours from Prague. If you are flying in for motorcycle training in the Czech Republic, this is the variant that fills the trip properly.

Itinerary

  1. Arrival day

    Dinner and theory

Dinner off the grill at 20:00, then half an hour of theory at 21:00: riding off-road, on the road and on the race circuit. Open discussion afterwards.

  2. Days 1 and 2

    Off-road at Horní Újezd

Breakfast at 8:30, riding starts at 9:30. Standing position, throttle control, cornering and braking on loose ground, hills. Lunch at 13:00, riding ends at 18:30.

  3. Day 3

    Tarmac and a road trip

Drills on an airfield apron in the morning, a road trip through the surrounding countryside in the afternoon. The switch from dirt to tarmac is where the dirt work pays off.

  4. Day 4

    Vysoké Mýto race circuit

Breakfast at 7:00, we leave for the circuit at 7:30 and ride from 8:00. Lunch at 14:00 and that is a wrap.

  5. On the 3-day option

    You still get every surface

The shorter option has the same mix, just fewer riding hours. Dirt, road and race circuit all stay in.

FAQ

What is the minimum age?

You can come to our training and experience rides without a driving licence. The youngest participant of our week-long camp was 11 years old. A licence follows the statutory age limits (A2 from 18, unrestricted A from 24, or from 20 after two years on A2).

Can I manage it if I have never sat on a motorcycle?

Yes. Most people start with us from zero. We begin on a light bike on soft ground, where a fall costs nothing, and build up from there. No previous experience is needed.

Do I need a driving licence?

For off-road training, for the closed race track and for experience rides you do not need a licence, because we ride away from public roads. You only need one where we go out on the road (road tours and expeditions).

Can I hire a motorcycle from you?

Yes. We have the largest BMW test fleet in the Czech Republic and bike hire is part of most courses and expeditions. All bikes are insured with a minimal excess. You are also welcome to come on your own machine.

Do you lend me a motorcycle, or do I have to bring my own?

It differs from service to service. Experience rides: we lend the bikes, you go through five of them during the ride. Off-road training: 5 500 CZK on your own bike, 8 800 CZK with our BMW. Weekend off-road training: 13 000 CZK on your own, 18 000 CZK with our BMW. Private race track training: you ride your own motorcycle, ours can be arranged in advance for an extra charge. Private off-road training: bike hire is included. Expeditions: the bike and all fuel are included.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothing for the weather, sturdy boots and a willingness to learn. We lend you the protective kit: helmet, gloves, body armour, knee guards and boots.

How much does it cost?

The fixed prices: experience ride on the track and off road 8 899 CZK · off-road training 5 500 CZK on your own bike, 8 800 CZK with our BMW · weekend off-road training 13 000 CZK, or 18 000 CZK with our BMW · private race track training 3 hours for 10 000 CZK, 6 hours for 15 000 CZK · week-long camp 60 000 CZK · tailor-made expedition from 59 000 CZK · motorcycle hire in Spain 4 500 CZK a day. As a rough guide, 25 CZK is about 1 EUR. For the other services the price depends on the date and the option, so write to us and we will send it straight back.

Do I need my own riding kit?

No. On our courses we lend you a helmet, gloves, body armour, knee guards and riding boots. If you have your own kit, bring it. On experience rides protectors are lent by prior arrangement for an extra 500 CZK (approx. 20 EUR).
